In the heart of the Bois de Boulogne, Natura e Architettura is responsible for the preliminary and final design, as well as the technical and artistic direction of the green areas’ setup in the elegant Napoleon III-style complex, which will host Casa Italia and its message of ensemble from July 26 to August 11.

Nel cuore del Bois de Boulogne, Natura e Architettura è responsabile della progettazione preliminare ed esecutiva e della direzione tecnica e artistica dell’allestimento delle aree a verde nell’elegante complesso in stile Napoleone III, che dal 26 luglio all’11 agosto ospiterà Casa Italia e il suo messaggio di ensemble.
Together is the magic word that inspired the interventions of Italian artists, designers, and architects who are reimagining the location, a transformation demanded by the historical moment. Sport, art, and culture can and must once again evoke the sense of closeness and sharing among peoples envisioned by Pierre de Coubertin, who, on the evening of June 23, 1894, toasted the birth of the Modern Olympic Games in the halls of Pré Catelan.
Insieme è la parola magica che ha ispirato gli interventi di artisti, designer e architetti italiani che stanno realizzando il progetto di riadattamento della location, e il momento storico la richiede con forza. Sport, arte, cultura possono e devono restituire ancora una volta il senso di vicinanza e condivisione fra i popoli evocato da Pierre de Coubertin, che proprio nei saloni del Pré Catelan, la sera del 23 giugno 1894, brindava alla nascita dei Giochi Olimpici Moderni.
From a stone quarry used for paving the avenues of the Bois to a place of amusement for the Parisian elite of the Second Empire, Pré Catelan remains a place of imagination even today.
During our first visit, on a chilly October day, we moved reverently among its rounded yet austere forms. We felt like time travellers as the white walls reflected dreams of lavish parties, holographic velocipedes raced along the paths, and we imagined the endless lines of Parisians waiting to enter the Théâtre de Magie for the show of Mademoiselle Benitta Anguinet, the greatest illusionist of the 19th century.
We returned to Italy with that magic and the determination to bring it back to Pré and to those who will have the pleasure of visiting during Paris 2024, along with our discreet tribute of Mediterranean colours and atmospheres.

Da cava di pietre per pavimentare i viali del Bois a posto di divertissement dell’élite parigina del Secondo Impero, il Pré Catelan resta ancora oggi un luogo dell’immaginario.
Durante la nostra prima visita, in una gelida giornata di ottobre, ci siamo mossi con deferenza fra le sue forme arrotondate ma austere. Ci sentivamo viaggiatori nel tempo mentre le pareti bianche rimandavano sogni di feste sontuose, sui vialetti sfrecciavano velocipedi in ologramma, incrociavamo le file interminabili di parigini, in attesa di entrare al Théâtre de Magie per lo spettacolo di Mademoiselle Benitta Anguinet, la più grande illusionista del XIX secolo.
Siamo rientrati in Italia con quella magia e la determinazione di restituirla al Pré e a chi avrà il piacere di frequentarlo durante Parigi 2024, insieme al nostro omaggio discreto di colori e atmosfere mediterranee.
